Itinerary
Begin your journey with an early morning ferry from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam (approx. 2 hours). Upon arrival, your safari driver will meet you and begin the scenic 5–6 hour drive to Selous Game Reserve. Along the way, enjoy rural landscapes and local village life. You’ll arrive at your lodge or camp in the afternoon, where you’ll check in, relax, and later enjoy a sunset boat safari on the Rufiji River, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and birds. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.
After an early breakfast, set off for a full-day game drive across Selous, known for its large populations of elephants, giraffes, lions, antelopes, buffaloes, and even African wild dogs. You’ll explore the park’s savannahs, woodlands, and riverbanks with your guide, stopping for a picnic lunch in the bush. The afternoon continues with more wildlife sightings before returning to your lodge in the evening for dinner and rest.
After breakfast, begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam, enjoying the beautiful countryside one last time. Upon arrival in Dar, you’ll board the afternoon ferry back to Zanzibar, arriving in the early evening. This marks the end of your unforgettable 3-day safari adventure.
