Itinerary
Drive: Depart from Dar es Salaam in the early morning for a 4-5 hour drive to Mikumi National Park. Arrival and Lunch: Arrive at your lodge/camp inside or near the park for lunch. Afternoon Game Drive: After lunch, embark on a thrilling game drive through Mikumi, home to elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, lions, leopards, and more. The Mkata Floodplain is particularly rich in wildlife and offers beautiful scenery for photography. Meals: Lunch and dinner provided. Overnight: At a lodge or camp in/around Mikumi National Park.
Morning Game Drive: Start the day with an early morning game drive when animals are most active. Look out for lions hunting and other predators on the prowl. Lunch: Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Afternoon Game Drive: Continue with a second game drive in the afternoon, exploring different areas of the park and enjoying the abundant birdlife and wildlife that Mikumi offers. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided. Overnight: At a lodge or camp in/around Mikumi National Park.
Morning Transfer: After breakfast, drive to the foothills of the Uluguru Mountains, located near the town of Morogoro. Hike: Begin a half-day hike through the mountains, known for their unique biodiversity, beautiful forests, waterfalls, and scenic views of the surrounding plains. This hike is moderately challenging and allows for interaction with the local Luguru people who inhabit the mountains. Lunch: Picnic lunch in the mountains. Return: After the hike, drive back to Dar es Salaam, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening. Meals: Breakfast and lunch provided.
