Itinerary

Arrive in Moshi for a briefing with your guide, followed by a gear check. Overnight at a hotel in Moshi to prepare for the trek.

Drive: Transfer to Londorossi Gate for registration, followed by a short drive to the trailhead. Trek: Hike through dense rainforest with chances to see Colobus monkeys and other wildlife. Ascent: Gain 570 meters over 3-4 hours. Meals: Lunch and dinner provided. Overnight: Mti Mkubwa Camp (tented accommodation).

Trek: Ascend out of the forest and cross into the moorland zone with expansive views of the Shira Plateau. Ascent: Gain 790 meters over 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided. Overnight: Shira 1 Camp (tented accommodation).

Trek: Continue across the Shira Plateau with incredible views of Kibo Peak and Mount Meru in the distance. Ascent: Gain 240 meters over 4-5 hours. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided. Overnight: Shira 2 Camp (tented accommodation).

Trek: Gradual ascent to Lava Tower, a key acclimatization point, before descending slightly to Moir Hut. Ascent: Gain 750 meters, followed by a descent of 400 meters over 6-7 hours. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided. Overnight: Moir Hut (tented accommodation).

Trek: Continue along the Northern Circuit, traversing across Kilimanjaro’s northern slopes with panoramic views. Descent: Descend slightly to Buffalo Camp after 5-7 hours of trekking. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided. Overnight: Buffalo Camp (tented accommodation).

Trek: The trail continues across the northern slopes, descending slightly to Third Cave. Descent: 150 meters descent over 4-5 hours. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided. Overnight: Third Cave (tented accommodation).

Trek: A steady ascent to School Hut, the final camp before your summit attempt. Ascent: Gain 880 meters over 4-5 hours. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided. Overnight: School Hut (tented accommodation).

Summit Attempt: Start your climb at midnight, reaching Stella Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Uhuru Peak: After celebrating at the summit, descend back to Barafu Camp for a rest and continue down to Mweka Camp. Total Trek Time: 12-14 hours. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided. Overnight: Mweka Camp (tented accommodation).

Descent: After breakfast, trek down through the rainforest to Mweka Gate. Certificate: Receive your summit certificate at the gate. Return: Transfer back to Moshi for a celebration lunch. Meals: Breakfast and lunch provided. Overnight: Optional stay at a hotel in Moshi (not included in the package).

Transfer: Early morning departure from Moshi to Tarangire National Park. Game Drive: Explore the park, known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Spot lions, zebras, wildebeest, and more. Meals: Picnic lunch provided. Return: After the game drive, return to Moshi or Arusha in the late afternoon.
